POLITICS: Margaret Thatcher, the first female Prime Minister of England, known as the “Iron Lady,” once told the first President Bush, “Don’t go wobbly, George” in dealing with the Soviet Union. President Hussein Obama, who spends his life bowing to, and apologizing to foreign leaders, may soon be confronting the American version, in the “Ice Lady” from Alaska. Sarah Palin is politically armed and dangerous, ready to kick ass and take names with an eye on winning the White House in 2012. The media can laugh all they want – at their own peril. EDITOR’S CHOICE: Due to flawed science and even worse politics, the global warming movement as we have known it may be dying. The demise of the crusade has some important political and cultural consequences. In the U.S. it is scored Sarah Palin 1, Al Gore 0. The global warming meltdown confirms all of the populist suspicions about an arrogantly clueless establishment invoking faked science to impose off-the-wall social mandates on the long-suffering American people -- fully backed by a mainstream media that is totally in the tank.

DEFENSE: The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) never seems to sleep in its attempts to better prepare and protect the American soldier in combat (CD 12/5). Here are some of its latest new tricks, some that make the news and some that don’t. Drones over Pakistan are in the headlines most every day, but there are two others including satellites for the grunts and new protection for their armored vehicles.

The Super Bowl Kerfuffle: "If you don't like it just turn off the TV!" goes the liberal mantra as all form of sexual perversion, obscenity and violence slinks unannounced into our living rooms. Fire-breathing feminists, liberal-media automatons and other "progressive" pro-aborts are anything if not predictable. They've once again concocted controversy where – to the emotionally stable among us – there is none. The latest target of their cultish ire is Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and all-around-great-guy, Tim Tebow.

THE NEXT GREAT THING: Everybody is still watching for the next great thing which someone will invent -- that will turn the economy around and get the world, as we used to know it, moving again. That was before bureaucratic idiots got full Presidential permission to throw our money away on pipedreams, spend it lavishly on themselves, and useless unions were paid off by Harry Reid to avoid all of the taxes the rest of us pay. The AFL-CIO, the UAW, the SEIU and others have single-handedly turned China into an industrial powerhouse and destroyed U.S. manufacturing. Some UAW workers even have been promised jobs for their kids. Are you kidding me? Still, some things are going on:

NO SPACE SHOTS: The day that Obama gave the “State of the Union,” address, the headlines proved what an absolutely disastrous President he has been. Even as one read, "Obama Will Call for Repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell," he was canceling missions to the noon - - as India announced it would land there in 2016. This “community organizer,” is more interested in the rights of the 3-4% homosexual population of America (by his own estimates) than in human endeavors in the universe. If you think he’s on top of things, just read the rest of the headlines on Jan. 27. The census. The McCain's homophilia.

THE SORRY STATE OF THE UNION

SORRY STATE OF THE UNION: The President’s address on the condition of the country after his pathetic first year performance can only qualify as a bad joke. His insistence that he knows what he is doing, defied credulity. His pledge to rein in spending was absurd – as he saves a penny out of every $10 million he squanders daily. He barely mentioned giving terrorists full American citizen rights. But the high point had to be the lawmakers rising in unison to applaud his call for controlling earmarks – even after they conspired with Obama to pass over 8,000 of them. The hypocrisy of this administration and this Congress is so breath-taking as to be ludicrous. And, that leaves the Democratic Party in serious disarray.

EDITOR’S CHOICE: Geert Wilders is the Chairman of the Party for Freedom of the Netherlands, who has caused an uproar over his outspoken concern over the growth of Islamic influence in Europe. Following the massacre at Fort Hood, an 86-page Pentagon report never mentioned the killer Major Nidal Hasan by name, or even discusses his well-documented commitment to radical Islamic action. In new hearings, many House lawmakers expressed fury at the military’s political-correctness to protect the concerns of those that would destroy this country -- and President Barack Hussein who would treat the nation’s worst enemies as American citizens. Perhaps there are some important lessons for Americans from a speech Wilders recently made in New York:
