THE SKY IS FALLING AS CREDIT RATING IS CUT, AND THE TEA PARTY JOINS AL QAEDA

OFF THE TRACKS: It is no exaggeration that America is being derailed. When Bill Clinton left office, debt as a percentage of GNP was around 52%; when Bush left office it was around 63% -- in two years Obama has pushed it to 100%. The last time US debt topped the size of its annual economy was in 1947 just after World War II. By 1981 it had fallen to 32.5 percent. This President has run up the debt levels higher than all Presidents in American history combined. And Obama’s only solutions are to spend even more. The government now spends more money on regulation than it takes in on straight income taxes. Forty per cent of all residential property is effectively owned by the U.S. government as federal agencies hold the unsecured mortgages, which resulted from Hillary Clinton deciding one day that “all Americans should own their own homes.” And Democrats are increasingly charging that all who oppose their profligate spending are somehow traitors and criminals.

TEA PARTY TERROR: Democrats from Vice President Joe Biden to former Vice President Al Gore have decided that the Tea Party forcing  the President to back down on the debt talks –is an act of terror. The President wanted to raise taxes and get a license to spend forever. As a sign of how delusional the Democrats have become, there is no Tea Party as an organized force. It has no leader, no office, no budget – it is a grass root movement of people opposed to Obama’s horrendous waste. Many Republicans were elected in the party’s shocking 2010 retaking of the House, on the pledge to vote against debt increases. Their refusal to go along with Obama is now labeled as terrorism; opposing bankruptcy is like blowing up the Twin Towers. And by the way; if you don’t endorse the President you are now officially a “racist” in Democra circles. The “new beginning” is starting to sound a great deal like Red Square in 1917. The real fear now is that Obama wants it this way, and the destruction of American society as we know it is his goal – there can be no other explanation.

STUPID CITIZENS: The liberal reaction to current events would seem to confirm that. One Democrat has compared the vote against Obama as one of a foolish person who rejects Keynesian economics and global warming.  Both are accepted as liberal dogmas. The Wall Street Journal notes, “They may be disguised thinly as science. Both are supported by circular logic, and thus lack falsifiability, a necessary characteristic of a scientific theory. If the weather gets warmer, that's because of global warming; if it gets colder, that's "climate change" and proves the theory as well. Had unemployment stayed below 8%, as the Obama administration promised it would, that would have proved the "stimulus" worked; since it peaked at 10% and has held steady above 9% that proves the stimulus wasn't big enough. Heads I win, tails you lose.”

Democrats say the failures of the Obama administration prove not only that Republicans are "intellectual primitives" but that they are stupid: Among the "sobering lessons" that "we" have "learned," another says, is "that there's no point trying to explain complicated matters to the American people." Such as routine Congressional Democratic  tactics of passing a billion dollar measure on Monday, withdrawing it on Tuesday and announcing on Wednesday a billion dollars in savings. The only smart people apparently are the ones that want America to go broke and turn into North Korea. We are stupid; and they have to save us from ourselves.

IGNORAMUSES: Consider what some prominent Democrats are saying. Froma Harrop, who oversees the "Civility Project" of the National Conference of Editorial Writers, said in a column, Tea Party Republicans were "engaged in economic terrorism against the United States like the al-Qaida bombers; delusional;  dreaming of restoring some caliphate; terrorists and  ignoramuses; destructive children and  extremists." All for questioning irresponsible spending patterns. Wow, there’s a steady head ready willing and able to tell you what kind of light bulbs you can use and oversee a multi-trillion dollar budget,

Sen. John Kerry said in a TV interview: ”The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it's exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual.” Al Gore went further: "We need to have an American spring -- you know, like the Arab Spring," Gore said. "The nonviolent part of it isn't finished yet, but we need to have an American Spring, a kind of an American nonviolent change where people on the grass roots get involved again." The latest polls on realclearpolitics.com show that 80 percent of Americans believe the nation is on the wrong track, with only 14 approving of the Obama-Gore direction. Those polls are looking at the grass roots and they think Gore is an idiot.

GORE BLABBERS: The former VP adds profoundly: “This country is in trouble. Our democracy has been withering on the vine. It really has been. This has been going on for some time. But this is not an event that can be taken lightly. I know it's difficult to imagine that people who care about the values that this country was based on, will rise up and get much more involved in the democratic process." (If they did, he would find himself on a slow boat to Cuba.) Gore continues: "But that is exactly what we need, and that is the only thing that can get our country back on the right track. Not the, you know, not in the Tea Party-style," Gore clarified. To explain his objection to the Tea Party, he recited a list of left-liberal would-be progressive demon figures: "right-wing billionaires, the Koch Brothers, Fox News, the wealthiest Americans, powerful corporations and special interests and the Supreme Court."

RACISM: Democrats say that Obama's difficulties are also the result of racism: It has been a frequently recurring theme ever since he emerged as a serious presidential candidate. Obama himself has raised it occasionally, though not often, but his supporters fall back on it all the time – including now. DeWayne Wickham wrote in USA Today: "This total lack of respect is downright contemptible -- if not unpatriotic. Such contempt, I'm convinced, is rooted in something other than political differences -- a subtle form of racism. In Wickham's words, Speaker John Boehner "contemptuously waited more than half a day to return a call from the president," and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor complained to reporters that Obama cut short a meeting," as though the president needs his permission to end a White House gathering."  And that makes them racist.

ISSUES LIST: If President Obama needed any more indication of how much his public support has eroded, he need look no further than a recent memorandum of sorts published in the New York Times by former President Bill Clinton’s pollster, Stanley Greenberg.  Listen to Greenberg, whose progressive firm partners with Clinton on groups he has polled and what people want:

•“Voters in the developed world are turning away from Democrats, Socialists, liberals and progressives.”

 • “Voters feel ever more estranged from government—and they associate Democrats with government.”

 • “If they are to win trust, and votes, Democrats must show they are as determined as the Tea Party movement to change the rules of the game."

 • “This distrust of government and politicians is unfolding as a full-blown crisis of legitimacy and sidelines Democrats and liberalism."

 • Greenberg says that his public opinion research now reveals that voters believe, “Government rushes to help the irresponsible and does little for the responsible."

 • To win, Democrats must “advocate policies that would control the borders and address problems of undocumented workers,” and voters want to “see strong enforcement at the border and in the workplace, and the expulsion of troublesome undocumented immigrants."

 • “Finally, progressives have to be serious about reducing the country’s long-term deficits” because “the deficit matters to people and has real meaning and consequences.”

RESEARCH: To recap, after analyzing his reams of public opinion research, President Clinton’s top pollster just advised the most progressive President in American history to mimic the Tea Party’s resolve, stop government from rewarding the irresponsible over the responsible, crack down on illegal immigration and get tough on border enforcement, stop illegal immigrants from being hired over legal citizens, and deport violent or law-breaking illegal immigrants, and to top it all off, Obama and the Democrats should stop the government’s profligate spending spree and bring down deficits -- Fat Chance.

DISASTER AHEAD: In sum, to have any shot of surviving the political onslaught of rage roiling in the land, the leftist pollster has just pleaded with Obama to morph himself into a Tea Party conservative. Whatever one thinks of Greenberg’s progressive political views, he is a seasoned and accomplished pollster who, along with James Carville, Dick Morris, Paul Begala, George Stephanopoulos and others, successfully navigated Bill Clinton to two presidential victories. Put simply, Greenberg knows what he’s talking about. And what his soundings reveal spells potential disaster for Democrats heading into the next election cycle.

Why?  Because the more Obama and Democrats attempt to tack back to the political center, the deeper the erosion will be among their progressive base. Indeed, already, Obama has seen sizable losses in support among his liberal base, and there are already signs that Obama’s backers may be experiencing “donor fatigue.” Recall again that Bill Clinton’s reelection was made possible when Dick Morris urged him to “triangulate” and sign the Republican’s welfare reform bill so that he could “end welfare as we know it,” as Clinton famously put it.

GO CENTER?:  It is hard to imagine Obama undergoing a similar course correction, and passing the kinds of center-right policy proposals Greenberg’s polls and focus groups demonstrate the voting public demands. Indeed, given the disenchantment among his progressive base, along with the economic free fall black Americans are presently suffering -- as the nation witnesses the disappearance of the black middle class -- every inch that Obama’s campaign dares to move to the center will further infuriate and alienate the dwindling vestiges of support he presently enjoys among his progressive base. And support for his now obvious goal of turning the US into Europe  and having Big Government taking total control of your life will not fly: Investor’s Business Daily editorialized: “As the economy flat-lines and stocks crater, the Pied Piper of hope and change leads us over a cliff while blowing out birthday candles at the White House and snuffing out America's future. This administration has been so wretched, its performance so incompetent, that we half-expect to see billboards popping up with image of Jimmy Carter and the words, `Miss me yet?’”

A lot can change by next year’s election. But when the top Democratic strategists tell the most liberal President in American history to join the Tea Party policy-parade of fiscal discipline and border enforcement, you know there’s serious trouble ahead. A Black commentator said on TV this week, “Rich people don’t make people poor. Putting poor people in charge makes everyone poor.” Obama, for all his erudite polish, is in the end just a community organizer who has never run anything that created jobs and paid bills. All he knows is how to give a speech and spend other people’s money. His Democratic allies are in even more shallow water. How hard is it to explain that you cannot spend what you don’t have and sooner or later you will go bankrupt? If that makes me a terrorist, I plead guilty.
