WHAT'S IN THE PIPE AND NEW AT DARPA?

Neurdron world press

DARPA WATCH: The Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is among the most successful and innovative programs the government funds – among the seemingly millions of disastrous federal boondoggles. Time and again it funds research that creates new initiatives that apply to the private sector. The Pentagon’s mad science agency has big plans for next year. Among them: crowd-sourcing military intelligence, creating an “immune system” for DOD networks, and even research that might one day lead to editing a soldier’s DNA; and also fool-proof new prosthetics and hypersonic flight. This is not health care run by the Post Office. Obama probably doesn’t even know that DARPA exists – it isn’t run by Acorn or the SEIU.

HOW WILL LIBERALS DEAL WITH MILITARY SUCCESS?

US Marine in the Offensive

FOREIGN POLICYIt is important to remember that when President Bush and Gen. Patreaus announced the surge in Iraq, Joe Biden wanted to divide it into three nations; Sunni, Shia and Kurdish. ALL Democrats declared the war lost. Everybody in California and New York wanted immediate withdrawal. Well far from a quagmire, the surge worked and Iraq has a good chance to emerge as a normal country. Now the same situation is going on in Afghanistan – but  this time the President is a liberal so the media barely mentions the latest Obama-declared surge and the current Marine offensive in the south. Well guess what – this surge may be working as well and it will be interesting to see how the liberals will deal with a military victory on their own watch.

REBELLION GROWING

Take America Back

REBELLION GROWING: There is a surprising trend emerging across America, which calls itself the Patriot Movement. It is based around the Tea Party assemblies that started last summer, and involves a variety of conservative groups that are reacting against Democratic Party attempts to impose massive new government control over American life. The movement is growing fast, and will play a major role in the November elections -- which it now appears, will decisively end any real or perceived mandate for “enlightenment,” resulting from the Obama election victory. It also involves a new “Contract” that will hold politicians accountable for slowing down the intrusion on citizen liberty.

OF PERU, INCAS AND REBELS

OF PERU, INCAS AND REBELS: I am reading a book that deals with the Sendero Luminoso, or Shining Path guerrilla movement in Peru. This is an excellent mystery novel by Santiago Rongagliolo, about a prosecutor in Ayacucho, the center of the rebellion, entitled, “Red April.” He traces a series of murders which connect to the Shining Path rebel movement, and raises the question of whether or not the Maoist guerrilla group has been truly vanquished as the government claims.

SARAH PALIN, AMERICA'S IRON LADY

Miss Alaska = The Iron Mom

POLITICS: Margaret Thatcher, the first female Prime Minister of England, known as the “Iron Lady,” once told the first President Bush, “Don’t go wobbly, George” in dealing with the Soviet Union. President Hussein Obama, who spends his life bowing to, and apologizing to foreign leaders, may soon be confronting the American version, in the “Ice Lady” from Alaska. Sarah Palin is politically armed and dangerous, ready to kick ass and take names with an eye on winning the White House in 2012. The media can laugh all they want – at their own peril.

ADDRESSING OBAMA'S FIRST YEAR

ums.udel.edu

OBAMA’S FIRST YEAR: The President was sworn in one year ago this week. He was swept into the White House on winds of promised change. But a look back at his first 365 days in office finds far fewer highlights than lowlights – a year marked by defeat, disarray and disillusionment.

IN THE NEW YEAR IT IS NOT OFF LIMITS TO ASK IF THIS ADMINISTRATION IS DOING IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE LONG-TERM INTERESTS OF THE U.S.

Coloradoright

THE PRESIDENCY: As we enter the New Year, it is not off limits to ask if this administration is not in the process of doing potentially irreversible damage to the long-term interests of the U.S. Some decisions are so antithetical to the national goals, as to suggest that something beyond sheer incompetence is involved. Just consider a few the more blatantly foolish decisions. Someone is either incredibly stupid or just plain evil – or both. After all, is the Commander-in-Chief an empty suit?

EVENTS ARE ACCELERATING TO A BOIL IN IRAN. WILL OBAMA & CO TAKE NOTE?

IRAN ON THE BRINK: The goal of the Islamic regime in Teheran has been to exclude the Western press and hope that “out of sight, out of mind,” will enable it to crush the growing rebellion against the dictatorship. First, it is working, as Obama and company are too busy playing golf to pay attention. Second, it is unnecessary, because the idiot press (even the Wall Street Journal) is more worried about the impact the demonstrations will have on Ahmadinejad’s reaction to sanctions over the nuclear program than on whether or not he is about to literally lose his head. Make no mistake; what is happening in Iran today is unprecedented -- and will end with a regime change that will shake the world. And you can bet Obama will take credit for never having seen it coming.

WHAT WILL 2010, THE YEAR OF THE TIGER, BRING?

2010, THE YEAR OF THE TIGER

YEAR OF THE TIGER: 2010 is the Year of the White Tiger in the Chinese zodiac. The Tiger (associated with good fortune, power, and royalty), is viewed with both fear and respect; hence, their protection and wisdom is sought after. Many people believe the tiger, and not the lion, as the true king of beasts. Positive Traits: Agile natural leaders, alert, energetic, independent, far-sighted, charming, friendly, well-liked, loyal, intelligent, confident, courageous, powerful, strong, self-reliant, competitive, good strategists and tacticians. Negative Traits: Unpredictable, vain, distrustful, impatient, impulsive, quick-tempered, quarrelsome, rebellious, tend to risk their luck too often, often disregard others, are sensitive to criticism and have difficulty keeping their restless nature under control. Which one describes your president? Ours is unpredictable, vain, impulsive and is risking our future-- to say the least.

COPENHAGEN: MORE GAS THAN ANY HERD OF BOVINES

Methane as Environment Destroyer

ENVIRONMENT: Most everybody has written off the recent Copenhagen global warming summit as a joke – having produced more flatulent bureaucratic gasses than any herd of bovines anywhere. And while Obama tries to spin it as a great world-changing event, it’s becoming increasingly clear that he probably won’t even be able to pass his own cap-and-trade environmental pact this year. Coming off the bruising health care debate, Democrats don’t want to go into the 2010 elections with two bank-breaking monkeys on their backs. That’s why sentiment is building to back off of this fight. And there are environmental fights aplenty ahead.
