DON'T ASK, DON'T BLEED

The U.S. military has always discriminated. There are a host of malignant behaviors such as illicit drug use or habitual criminality that can render a person ineligible to serve. As my father-in-law learned, there are also benign maladies such as vision impairment or flat feet that can bar an otherwise eligible applicant. Any number of behaviors or conditions with varying degrees of severity can dash one's hope of donning the uniform. So now that Barack Obama is president, what has changed? Is there something about "out and proud" homosexuality, hitherto absent or unseen, that suddenly makes it compatible with military service? Is there something about our military that has, for the first time in history, made it compatible with this particular lifestyle?

REPORTEDLY "GAY" PROP 8 JUDGE SHOULD RECUSE HIMSELF

Judge Vaughn Walker

Lynchburg, VA – Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs with Liberty Counsel, released the following statement today on news that the San Francisco Chronicle has “outed” 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Vaughn Walker as an active practitioner of the homosexual lifestyle. Judge Walker has presided over California’s Proposition 8 case filed by homosexual extremists who seek to manufacture a constitutional “right” to so-called “same-sex marriage:”

THE SUPERBOWL KERFUFFLE

Tim Tebow and mom

The Super Bowl Kerfuffle: "If you don't like it just turn off the TV!" goes the liberal mantra as all form of sexual perversion, obscenity and violence slinks unannounced into our living rooms. Fire-breathing feminists, liberal-media automatons and other "progressive" pro-aborts are anything if not predictable. They've once again concocted controversy where – to the emotionally stable among us – there is none. The latest target of their cultish ire is Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and all-around-great-guy, Tim Tebow.

DEMOCRATS' POLITICAL SUICIDE PACT

The President's familiar pose

The president recently told Diane Sawyer: “I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.” Excise the self-aggrandizing “really good” twaddle and it would seem ol’ Windy City Barry’s well on his way.

CHUMP CHANGE

Commondreams.com

So much for that whole “hopey-changey” thing; cute while it lasted, but the American people – like Bernie Madoff investors – now realize they’ve been duped. “Change” for the mere sake of change is simply chump change.

GOP: IT'S SINK OR SWIM IN 2010

RINO Rep. Mark Kirk

Republicans and Democrats are applying for the same job. Leadership is something they both desperately want and need, so competition is intense. Tim Kaine, chairman of the Democratic National Committee has a bit of advice for his Republican counterparts. He suggests that, to succeed, Republicans should run "moderate" candidates, kick conservatives to the curb and offer voters "Democrat Lite" instead of Reagan Republicanism in 2010 (you know, kind of like in '08 with John McCain).

THE CRUCIFICTION OF BRIT HUME

Brit Hume Foxnews.com

Recently, on two separate occasions, Fox News veteran Brit Hume both publicly pronounced his own faith in Jesus Christ and boldly suggested that Tiger Woods might find “forgiveness and redemption” for his serial philandering should he “turn to the Christian faith.” After Hume made his comments, and as if on cue (Lord forgive them for not knowing what they do or why they do it) liberals went apoplectic.

THE WAR ON CHRISTMAS: IT'S A COMMIE THING

War on Xmas/worldpress.com

Are you as annoyed as I am by that nauseatingly amorphous phrase “Happy Holidays?” You may be interested to know that the mindset behind the term precedes America’s postmodern love affair with political correctness, tracing back to good ole’ fashioned Cold War Communism (PC’s uglier big sister)

THE DISCRIMINATORY 'NON-DISCRIMINATION ACT"

Citizenlink.org

POLITICS: Today’s Democratic leadership is a predictable lot. They’ve cornered the market on mass manipulation through semantic tinkering. It’s a relatively easy code to crack. To decipher what Democrats mean versus what they say one need merely apply the “forked tongue test.”
